With its capacity to flourish all summer long, it's an attractive option for busy gardeners who still want to enjoy a flourishing landscape filled with life and color.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil for optimal growth. Dig a hole that’s twice the width of the root ball, making sure to space them about 12-18 inches apart to allow for plenty of air circulation and growth.
2. Watering: During the first growing season, water your Agastache regularly to help with root establishment. After that, provide water during extended dry spells, ensuring the soil is dry 2" down before watering again. Agastache is sensitive to root rot and poorly drained soils, so be careful not to overwater.
3. Pruning: To encourage bushier growth, pinch back the tips of the stems when the plant is about 6 inches tall. Deadhead spent blooms throughout the season to promote prolonged flowering.
4. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to give it a boost for the growing season. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can lead to excessive leaf growth with fewer flowers.
