Planting & Care

Ensure adequate space around the plant for airflow and future growth. Dig a hole twice as wide as the rootball and as deep. Place the plant in the center of the hole so that the top of the rootball is level with the soil line. Backfill with native soil and amend with compost. Spread a 3" layer of mulch three feet around the tree, pulling it back a few inches from the trunk.
2. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water the plant deeply once or twice a week, adjusting during dry spells to ensure healthy root development.
3. Pruning: Light pruning can be done in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and remove any dead or damaged branches. Avoid heavy pruning, as this can affect the plant's natural form.
